形態特徵

• Clums climbing, slender, smooth, zigzag, green to 40 m in length, 0.5-1.5 cm in diam., internodes 15-60 cm long; nodes very prominent, with many branches; walls 204 mm thick, culm sheaths deciduous, coriaceous, firm, concave at apex, brown hairy outside, frimbriate along margins; auricles of sheath inconspicuous; ligule of sheath very narrow or inconspicuous; blade of sheath linear-lanceolate, margins entire.
• Leaves 5-12, oblong-lanceolate, 10-25 cm long, 1.5-2.5 cm broad, veins 8-10, veinlets 6-8, parallel, densely spinulose-scabrous along margins; petiole short; auricles of leaf inconspicuous, with tufts of white bristles when young, changing to brown when old; ligule of leaf rounded, toothed, aristate; sheath of leaf 5-12 cm long, glabrous, minutely ciliate along one side.
• Spikelet-groups borne at ends of leafy branchlets, 1.8-2.5 cm long, 2-3 mm in diam.; glumes 2; lemma ovate-oblong, 14 mm long, 6 mm wide, glabrous, veins 9; palea longer than lemma, 19 mm long, 6 mm wide, minutely bilobed at apex, not keeled, veins 11; gynoecium 18 mm long; ovary glabrous; style long, terminated by 3 short spreading feathery stigmas; stamens 6, filaments long, anthers 9 mm long; lodicules 2, oblong-lanceolate, minutely hairy along upper margins.
• Fruit obovoid, 2-4 mm in diam., glabrous, persistent style at its apex.

分布

• 台灣 : widely distributed in primary forests, 250 to 1,200 m, in the south and east.
• 世界 : Native of Taiwan and the Philippines.
